History of the Project

Zerktouni Primary School is a public, primary schools for youth age five to 15 in Bouarfa, a small city of 25,000 inhabitants isolated in eastern Morocco. This project is the expanded version of a project spearheaded and already accomplished by the Parent Association and faculty of Zerktouni Primary School, as well as supportive community members. The completed project added ten computers into the school’s recently renovated technology center. The school wishes to replicated the project on a larger scale to install an additional ten computer units, for a total of 20, to better meet the needs of the 525 students and 23 staff.

The accomplishment of the previous project demonstrates the communities desire to see their children have access to high quality education, and the Parent Association’s ability to plan, implement and evaluate a successful community development project. Both the support and means exist to implement a similar project on a larger scale.
